"TIRUNELVELI: It is an issue chief minister J Jayalalithaa could not have ducked for long. With the power crisis that has affected daily life and crippled industry across Tamil Nadu for the past many months emerging as a talking point in election campaigns, she has decided to go on the offensive. At an election meeting in Tirunelveli on Friday, she said there was no shortage in electricity production in the state and, hence, the power cuts were the outcome of a concerted conspiracy hatched with the intent to turn public opinion against the AIADMK government in the state. 

The chief minister didn't elaborate on the conspirators, but blamed the crisis on power plants run by the Union government that periodically shut down."

Madam, it is most likely that your government offered maintenance contracts to those who bribed the most or maybe to minister's relatives who know nothing about power generation and maintenance..

Scratch that.. It is probably the terrorists from Pakistan / Afghanistan who are sabotaging the power plants so that you cannot become the PM..  Very Happy

I agree with JL. Indian gov actions created power cuts. Tamil Tribune pointed it out and predicted power shortage in the next decade in 1998. How correct they are!

Hope that at least she won't claim Obama sabotaged India's power situation 3 years after assuming power ( thereby preventing India from achieving the super power status)..
