Perhaps they think that Modi as the prime minister of India will get rid of the current multiple, archaic, divisive and discriminatory religious / communal laws for different communities in the country and instead bring in the UCC (Uniform Civil Code:  one law for everyone, irrespective of religion, race, caste and gender).

Because these 'intellectuals' lack it. They are just the average academic Joes, but got certified as 'intellectual elite' by one kind of establishment that wanted to further the left leaning ideologies, causes and biases. With NaMo, they see a threat to their 'elite' status and hence the loud cry.

Moreover, these "intellectuals" have no clue about what secularism really represents or stands for ...  certainly not the use of religious laws by people officially (with Govt's permission) in a secular country.

Of course, they could do ... read "reports" and "articles" etc. about Modi.

If Modi were guilty of any crime, he would be sitting in jail by now and out of the chief ministership in Gujarat.

Don't forget there is a totally hostile Govt. to him in the Center which would not waste a minute to get rid of him and throw him in jail if he had done anything wrong. But that has not happened for more than a decade.

Moreover, countless shitheads, inside and outside India, have been spewing anti-Modi venom and writing articles against him all this time (well over a decade), but still nothing of significance is there to get rid of him or put him in prison on any charges. The only silly outcome of the misinformation and false propaganda about Modi so far was that some countries in the West (including Britain and U.S.A. etc.) refused him the Visa to visit those places in the past, but now, after realizing that there is not much in terms of truth in the anti-Modi articles and propaganda (as also demonstrated by Indian courts' inability to convict Modi), these countries are reversing their earlier decision on the matter of visa to Modi.

Modi better threaten the current "facade" called secularism. What is currently practiced/followed in India is pSeudo/passive-iSlamic rule by a bunch of minority non-hindus with the help of a bunch of anti-hindu traitors interested only in enriching their family wealth.

The ONLY party that has made several promises to muslims - and only muslims - is Congress. It is easy to figure if Congerss is secular or not.

If Modi does not right the wrong, then I might as well support Syed Bhukhari - at least he is honest enough to acknowledge he supports Pakistan.

India's secularism is one of the greatest myths, as evidenced by the official use of religious laws by different communities in the country currently.

They have a good thing going all these years, and naturally they feel insecure about a possible change at the top.

not so; these countries are willing to reverse their earlier decision in order to show respect to the choice that the largest group of free and democratic people in human history are exercising.

You can say that about any country's justice system, including the U.S.A.
Moreover, don't forget that in Modi's case the Central Govt. would make sure that justice in India is administered 'perfectly' (using your word).

>>> these "well-known" authors and writers indicating in their articles and stories that Modi is a potential danger to current secularism in India just shows their ignorance about secularism, as indicated earlier.

The election is not even over yet. Moreoever, they have been trying to open the channels of communication with Modi for several months now, even indicating that Modi's application for visa will be considered if he applies.

I agree. Indian judiciary sucks! The courts could do nothing to Rajiv Gandhi, Jagdish Tytler, H.K.L. Bhagat, Lalit Maken, etc for orchestrating and conducting the 1984 sikh riots. But then, they were the rulers at the center. Executive > judiciary in india.

wrt Modi, why didn't the govt do anything for 10 yrs if he is the culprit? They were the rulers at the center. Are they so inefficient or did they know that he can't be convicted coz of lack of evidence?

But who is to blame for this poor law and order situation and justice system in India?
