God:Religion::Man: ?
God is to Religion, as Man is to ?
What?
After so many years, I figured out that religion has NOTHING to do with God, but ONLY with man.
Atheists hardly talk about God, they ONLY negate Religion(s).
Religion has LOST its meaning in today's world, because its being "used" for a million other reasons EXCEPT God.
Build a temple, fame and name in society, this God's statue or that God's statue, do this, do that, this priest or that - WHAT? Step back, and think - What is this ALL for, anyway? Including this religion?
Millions are "Religious", but none a "theist".
Its a shame,
TS.

Re: God:Religion::Man: ?
I believe in ALL religions.
I also WANT to believe in God.
I do NOT want to believe in any ONE religion alone.
What am I?
A polytheist? Irreligious? Atheist? Agnostic? Whats my label?
Trying to take God away from all religions in Kalayuga....
Regards,
TS.

None of the Upanishads have anything about God. They talk about the ultimate reality, the imperceptible Brahman and then abt you and only you (atma). Buddhism also doesn't have a god.

Re: God:Religion::Man: ?
Religion is nothing but a belief system of a man who "pretends to know" about God. Then why have it?
Taken further, what are Sadguru's views on Caste system which is within a religion?
Thanks,
TS.

Re: God:Religion::Man: ?
God is to Religion as Man is to <What?>
I have hardly any respect left for any religion left. I shun religion because its ONLY practiced as a belief system. What is practiced is the TRUE nature of any religion. If Hinduism practices caste system, it is it. If Islam practices terror, it is it, and if Christianity practices conversion using missionaries, it is it. These religions expose their true nature by what they practice. Not by their books.
In any case, I honestly feel ALL religions are useless manipulations of their popes. For a common man, only "God" matters, and should.
Religions aint helping.
So I again ask - God is to Religion, as Man is to <What> ?
TIA,
TS.

Hi smArtha,
Na Tha Kuchh To?
Kya Tha?
Khuda Tha.
Kuchh Na Hota To?
To Kya Hota?
Khuda Hota!
Duboya Mujhko Hone Ne.
Na Hota Mai To?
Koi "Opinion" bhi nahi Hota! :-)
I agree to some extent, that our existence is nothing but merely our "opinion" (based on our experiences of life, learning, and its interpretation etc etc - but in the end, merely our opinion!).
But one or more opinions of a man might define a man, one or even infinite religions can NOT define God.
Regards,
TS.
