muslim tamil scholars have always had a special place in their hearts for the epic by kamban. i have mentioned in the past that the sIrAppurANam which is a story of the prophet was written in the same meter as the kambarAmAyaNam.  i may have also mentioned the former chief justice of the madras high court, mu.mu.ismAil who was a scholar of kamban, nonpareil. i have heard him give some fantastic commentaries on the epic.

here is a contemporary kamban scholar who happens to be muslim, abdul khader:



the thing is in multiple parts. if you know tamil and have even a passing interest in kambarAmAyaNam this is worth listening to.
