Why Rick Perry could win... Empty Why Rick Perry could win...

The Center-Left Independents will most likely sit out the election in crucial states that Obama won in 2008 after his handling of the economy, while the Center-Right Independents will have no problem voting for Perry who also has a track record as a Fiscal-Conservative. And all the far-Right will turn out in droves to vote for him, a factor that played against McCain.

The center-left will come out and vote for Obama. It's the extreme left that will be disgusted with Obama, and will either stay home or vote for third-party / write-in candidates (wait for that drama to begin.) The center-right may vote for Perry, if nothing crazy comes out about his religious beliefs. The extreme left is already at work on establishing some connections between Perry and some pretty crazy right-wing organizations. If he was smart enough to keep his distance from those, he has better chances to win than Obama does in 2012.

At this point, it looks like Romney is toast and Perry will be the nominee. But all of that could change very quickly.

If anything Rick Perry's nomination will galvanize the center-left, liberals and extreme leftists to come out in droves to vote for Obama. Bcz Rick Perry will dismantle the very things they accuse Obama of not doing well.

Rick Perry is no big achiever - it is not difficult to cut spending and balance budgets in Texas - that too with the high oil prices that exists over the last several years. But trying to look at the country as if it is a bigger Texas is dead wrong.

Of course, he will be a magnet for the likes of Palin and Bachmen. Let us sit back and enjoy his sex scandals to unfold.

One factor working against Obama this time around, some of the swing states are turning negative. Minnesota and Wisconsin are swinging right, Colorado and North carolina moved away from possible states, and Virginia is lost.

The fight is going to be fought in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Michigan instead of India, Ohio and North carolina.

Electoral college is definitively turning against Obama. He has to get the economy in control. I am not sure if any sitting president in the past 60 years won with a 9% unemployment. However if europe goes down the tubes but Obama keeps US economy on course, he may look good.

Actually, Obama will win hands down if what you say is true...

look closely... You said I N D I A (instead of IndianA). India with its huge population and a very strong pro-Obama support will easily help him win in 2012, IF INDIA IS ALSO MADE ONE OF THE STATES.

For a moment I thought you have a real argument.
