Hyderabad: The fight between Telangana and Seemandhra employees in government offices located in the common capital area Hyderabad is taking an ugly turn. The issue of disconnecting power supply to the lift in the office of fisheries department in Masab Tank on Saturday led to a tussle between Telangana and Seemandhra employees.

The four-storied office building has been distributed to Telangana and AP. While the first two floors were allotted to Telangana, the top two floors have been allotted to AP.
AP employees have to necessarily use the lift since their offices are located on upper floors. However, some employees disconnected the power supply to lift by cutting the electrical wires on Monday.

Seemandhra employees alleged that it was the handiwork of Telangana employees to trouble them, though Telangana employees refuted these allegations.

“Telangana employees have been troubling us ever since AP was bifurcated in June. They stopped payment of power bill and maintenance bill for the lift due to which the contractor maintaining the lift left the job. Despite this, we mobilised money among themselves and convinced the contractor to take up the job again. Unable to bear this, Telangana employees have disconnected power supply to the lift by cutting the electrical wires,” said B. Subhadra, an employee.
