Way back in the 1990s, Dr. Thanjai Nalankilli wrote that Indian gov's opposition to Tamil Eelam was not bsed on the interest of India as a conutry but on the desires of the Indian rulers not to allow a free Tamil country to emerge where Tamil would live as a living language for ever and a thorn on the clainms of Sanskrit supremacy in Sounth asia and even the world.

Now read today's news.

NEW DELHI: S Chinese sub, Changzheng 2, has again docked at the Colombo port, sparking "enormous concerns" within the government about the intentions of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Chinese took three years to complete the shipyard at Colombo spending hundreds of millions after clinching a long term trade deal with the SL government. It is supposedly the largest one to serve as a transit station for their sea route tradings. I am not surprised that submarines are now involved, an elephant in the room. Of course, the Indian military strategy is the three-monkey principle: see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil.

>>>This is part of a grand strategy. These guys are playing the superpower game. Rajapakse is milking it for what it is worth. India's options are limited, other than aligning itself with the west who also is not thrilled about Chinese designs in that neighborhood either This is going to be a precarious balance of power.

Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) recently made a two-pronged simultaneous incursion by sending its troops into Indian waters in the Pangong lake as well as five kms deep into Indian territory through the land route in the same area, according to reports.

Official sources said on Sunday that according to reports received by security agencies, Chinese boats entered into the Indian waters at the Pangong lake nestled in the higher reaches of Ladakh on October 22.

These incursions were simultaneously backed by Chinese troops on the road built alongside the Pangong lake which took place in eastern Ladakh and on the northern bank of Pangong Lake, located 168 km from Leh, the sources said.

India had the opportunity to have a friendly country controlling 2/3rd of the coast of the Sri Lankan Island. India said repeatedly in the 1990s althe way to 2009 that it would not allow Tamil control of 2.4rd of the coast.

OK. Now Sri Lanka controls 100% of the coast including the much coveted Trincomalee harbor. I would have no sympathy to India if Chinese navy controls the Palk Straih=ghts and chase Indian navy from that sea.

North Indians are running India so what do you expect? They don't care if fishermen continue to get shot in the sea or captured and killed by the SL government because it is a Tamil problem, not India problem.
