Unkil, ancient Indians had made amazing advances in math, astronomy and medicine. That is factual. But that has nothing to do with the chaddis' fantastic belief that we had space shuttles (running on horse urine), plastic surgery and stem cell technology.

Elementary plastic surgery is described in the Susruta Samhita. ( This is considered one of the great achievements of Indian medical science.)What is not described is brain transplant like the kind Lord Ganesha went through. That is pure mythology. Also nothing related to genetics is described in Ayurveda or any other Indian source material.

Mumbai: Ancient Indian scientists had mastered aviation to an extent that they had aeroplanes that could facilitate inter-planetary travel and the same has been mentioned in the Rigvedas, claimed Captain Anand Bodas, a retired principal of a pilot training facility, on the second day of the 102nd Indian Science Congress.

Captain Bodas was speaking at a symposium on Ancient Sciences through Sanskrit at the university sports complex at Kalina on Sunday. Referring to the Vedic texts to support his claim, Captain Bodas said that Maharishi Bharadwaj spoke of the existence of aeroplanes 7,000 years ago.

He said that Maharishi Bharadwaj mentioned that these aeroplanes could travel from one country to another and also from earth to other planets and back. “The Wright Brothers are given credit for developing flying technologies in 1904 but the same was existent in ancient India,” said Captain Bodas.

I know and I feel very depressed whenever I think of the airplane manufacturing manuals, TV, Nuclear bomb & plastic surgery manuals that have been destroyed by monomaniacs. If not for those monomaniacs, you & I wouldn't have to come this far to make living. I think Modiji should sue all those countries for patent infringement.

In case CONmen are wondering why they are losing in recent elections, here is one reason - they are viewed as anti-Hindu and pro-"minority". Chaddis are taking advantage of this. In BIMARU states, Shah has discovered that playing the Hindu pride card fetches votes. Added to that, sprinkling Mujaffarnagar-type-stage-plays have further consolidated Bhaiyya pride. So, if a BJP fellow awkwardly claims that Hindu sages walked upside down and created babies by meditating, Bhaiyyas will pull up their chaddis, run to the voting booths and shove their votes for BJP. All the talk at the Science Congress is for Bhaiyyas, not for Sikularists. The more the media and CONmen jump up and down on this, the more Bhaiyyas go into a trance and vote or BJP.

Unkil, the BJP has been winning election after election because of (a) anti-incumbency fueled by complete paralysis in governance and rampant corruption, (b) a rudderless, listless Congress and most importantly, (c) a developmental narrative that promised India's youth a better economic future.

But winning elections is only the first step. Unless there is concrete policy action that spurs economic growth, and that doesn't mean more sloganeering and photo-ops, delivering outcomes that match the rhetorical promise of acche din, it will be a repeat of 2004, all your claims of Hindu pride notwithstanding.

every country has this period where they try to build up national self esteem by making outlandish claims of superiority and try to find 'facts' behind myths proving they were advanced. no one (iranians, arabians, japanese, germans...everyone's done it one time or the other) is immune from such idiocy. in india the pendulum is certainly swinging too far to the point where they're going to become laughing stock of the world with outlandish bullshit but it's atleast partly reactionary due to the inaccurate 'secular' agenda driven bullshit that was fed over past 60 yrs.
