It has data and charts on spending in California - specifically spending on prisons and universities.

PI, I don't think Economist is owned by Murdoch.

There are plenty of things that are wrong with CA. Our argument is about how much do prison guards contribute to CA's problems.

Here is an article about prisons it also touches costs all over the country including CA.
