douchemun, all those statements are true. it's no secret that islam was an evolution for those times, atleast in terms of egalitarianism. that it was a brutal religion in every other aspect and very well suited to manipulate large swathes of ppl by leaders with expansionist tendencies, rather than to sustain an intellectually evolving civilization (yeah yeah we all heard stories about baghdad library with 80k books and supposed contribution of arab muslims to science between 1027 ad 9:45am to 1026 ad 10:20pm). it's inability to brook dissent and self critique is widely known and is well suited for use by strong men (the bearded types that turn your knees into jelly).

hinduism in contrast is weak in all those aspects and it was never a natural fit for those seeking to conquer other lands and hence lost out.
