that is getting Andhra special category status. Looks like TDP has already given up as they're saying Andhra does not meet any of the criteria required to be awarded with special category status. They changed their tune since they got to the power.

When contacted, TRS floor leader in the Lok Sabha, A. Jitender Reddy told this correspondent from New Delhi on Monday that they do not see the Centre granting special status category to either Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. Mr Reddy said when Telangana Chief Minister led a delegation to Union finance minister Arun Jaitley, the latter dropped enough hints in this regard.

“The Union Finance Minister almost ruled out special category status to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but promised special incentives and packages. If both states are treated at par, we do not have any objections,” he said.
