Obviously, CD will find some serious issues with the deal. Subrahmanian Swami (who feels neglected by Modi) thinks that the deal is "illegal" and he may approach the SC. May be he should take his medication, instead.

It would be interesting to see if CONmen will worship their haaths and shout "garibi hatao".

I read what Swamy is saying. He may have a valid point. The Chinese would have done exactly what he said.

Think about it. Dauusault is broke and depends on Eyptian order for 20 planes and now the Indian order for 36 planes to keep it running. Otherwise they were going to shut down.. naturally, a bankrupt - about to be shut down - company should be an easy buy for a couple of billion $ than paying some $ 5 bil for 36 planes.

Remember the Boeing purchase of the Dutch Fokker and the Chinese buying the McDonalds plant in China or the TATA purchase of Jaguar. There is nothing better than buying a high tech company on a distress sale...

- unless our great Gujju has indeed made some kind of a deal along those lines. Imagine if India buys Daussalt, then Dassault or France is not liable for the 108 fighters to be made in the low-quality HAL in the future.
