No new members to this site

This site has been on for a few months now.

I have noticed that there are no new members. Its the same old members sticking to this site and there is very little action here.

I might have to re-open my site www.desichatter.com and put some $$$ into it to market it.

This site is not going places...that's for sure.

I get to interact on chat with most of the people I care about. I find the others here, although not as much as I would like to.

Maybe once the chat fever is over (been three months, doesn't seem too likely), people will find some balance betweeen the two. Or maybe not. *shrug*.

I don't think this site will grow in terms of # of users. If it stays as a forum for people who migrated from Sulekha, that's good enough for me.

lets start advertising it on fb, wat say 4? create a page for forumotion(?)
if ppls' pets can have a page of their own so why shudnt forumotion have its own page too Wink

Seven, we can advertize it on Facebook. But for this to work, people need to be willing to let their friends know that they are on SuCH. Not sure how many people will want to do that! Shocked

If there are a few people who want to promote the forum on Facebook, I will create a Facebook page and post the link here so people can "like" the page.

It's a vbulletin forum with a better url and better bells and whistles.

Other than that, it is not very different from any other forum.

This site was not meant to increase membership or make it a commercial site with profit motive.

A plain new home for a group of people who had been interacting with each other for awhile. Nothing more. Towards that end, this site is certainly a success.

Don't remember the "better bells and whistles" you mention - for me the USP of this site after migration from Sulekha is that it's modetrated by C.

Sorry, I didn't mean to exclude anybody who came here from desichatter.com. New members are of course welcome here, and having new members enriches the discussions here. I just think given the lack of promotion of this site, we will never really attract new members in droves. If we manage to keep the community we have together, I see this forum as having served its purpose.
