TCS woman dies in Bombay - 50 m from police station

....The incident took place on Wednesday night and the victim kept lying on the road unattended for about half an hour after she was hit by the vehicle, they said........"Though the police station was just 50 meters away from the place of incident, nobody brought it to the notice of the police and the golden hour in terms of medical treatment was missed," he said.
Even in Bombay...things hv not changed for a commoner.

People in India would prefer to avoid any involvement with the police. It is going to take a long time for that mindset to change.
On a different note, it is stressful interesting that in the UK it is now the Police Service rather than the Police Force.

Yes the mindset is hard to change. I remember reading that the Govt passed some bill that accident victims should not be turned away by doctors/hospitals and they are absolved of any legal tangles. Of course...in India people are always suspicious of any law as enforcement is weak.
Service - anyhting that has it in their name smacks of terror. IRS, INS, SSS
