apparently the isis guys don't like to be associated with al qaeda and don't like the americans routinely associating them (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/10/isis-onslaught-has-broken-al-qaida-its-spiritual-leaders-admit).

i don't think the US military establishment much cares. they're all just splotch-splotch targets for their JDAMS and bunker busters.
