We are Not Hyphenated Americans: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal
WASHINGTON: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, while announcing his 2016 White House bid, today invoked the success story of his immigrant parents but once again distanced himself from his Indian roots by asserting that "we are all Americans" and not hyphenated Americans.
44 years ago, Mr Jindal said, a young couple who had never before been on an airplane, left their home on the other side of the world to come to a place called America.
Piyush 'Bobby' Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, soon after his Punjab-born parents came to the US, he said.
"They had never seen it. There was no internet to search, but they had heard the legend. There was a place in this world \where people were free and the opportunities were real," Mr Jindal said referring to the journey his parents made to the US from India.
"They weren't really coming to a geographical place. They were coming to an idea, and that idea is America. To them, America represented all that was good in the world, where you could get ahead if you worked hard and played by the rules. Place where what matters is the content of your character, not the colour of your skin, the zip code you were born in or your family's last name," he said.
He highlighted that his father grew up in a house without electricity and without running water and was the only person in the family to get past the fifth grade.
"He (father) and mom they came to Louisiana because they believed in America and when they got here they found that the legend was true. They found that the people of Louisiana accepted them and they found that America is indeed the land of the free and the home of the brave," said the two-term Governor of Louisiana.
As he formally launched his presidential campaign, Mr Jindal reiterated his remarks about de-hyphenating Indians and other ethnic groups from Americans.
"I am done with all this talk about hyphenated Americans. We are not Indian-Americans, African-Americans, Irish Americans, rich Americans or poor Americans. We are all Americans," he said amidst applause from the audience.
Mr Jindal had this week featured on the Federalist Radio Hour and given his perspective on the state of the union.
He expressed frustration that President Barack Obama has "been trying to divide us...by gender, by race, by geography, and by religion."

Off course he's trying to become the next US President, so he will run fast away from his Indian heritage.
The problem is that Indians are also running faster towards him and will try to give him "India Abroad" medal or a Padam Shri or something. He understands that will hurt him.

From Wiki:
Jindal's father, Amar Jindal, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Guru Nanak Dev University.[159][160] Jindal's mother, Raj (Pal) Jindal,[159] is an information technology director for the Louisiana Workforce Commission (formerly the Louisiana Department of Labor) and served as Assistant Secretary to former State Labor Secretary Garey Forster during the administration of Gov. Murphy J. "Mike" Foster, Jr.[161] Prior to immigrating to the United States, both his parents were lecturers at an Indian engineering college.[162] According to Jindal, his mother was already four months pregnant with him when they arrived from India.
What kind of a Phoney is this Jindal? He is talking as though his parents were illegal messicans crossing Rio Grande after hearing about this 'Legend"
Question to Trump - the true Idiot:
Is Bobby Jindal eligible to run for presidency ? He is a Pro-lifer and thinks Life starts at conception. That means he was an Indian when he was "conceived." His mom was 4 months Prego when he landed in the legendary great land of Louisiana.
I think Bobby Jindal is not eligible for US presidency (as also Ted Cruz).

Jindal is just being Sikular like Laloo. Laloo sprinkles the prasaadam from the rear end of Gow-maata on his head when no one is watching. After explaining the virtues of Sikularism to his Muslim vote-bank, Laloo will joke to Rabri (when they are in bed together) that lying to the suckers during the day makes him horny in the night!
If Jindal becomes the president, he will quickly increase the cooperation with Chinese and Pakis to screw India.
