with the exception of krishnan, is there any popular hindu god portrayed without carrying a weapon? -goddesses excluded

Except when he's depicted with Radha, Krishna is invariably shown with his Sudarshana Chakra.

Brahma carries no arms that I can recall.

Many of the other avatars of Vishnu also bear no arms: Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Vamana, Buddha...

Narasimha is shown with weapons in modern day calendar art, but if you recall the story, he disemboweled Hiranyakashipu with his lion-like nails.
