here's uppusaamy gowNDer, trying to fight facts and history again. singhal is/was not an ex-iitan; he attended b.h.u.'s institute of technology around 1950, never an iit. that bhu's institue of technology was designated an iit in 2012 does not make singhal an ex-iitan.

You are right. BHU was a proper university before its college of technology was designated an IIT - BHU used to do some research. I suppose, now it is just a polytechnic college!

Obviously, Uppili is insulting Singhal by calling him an IIT-an.

uppusaamy gowNDer is the most transparent poster here. while the language he uses requires translation into english, the intent of his posts is always clear, and needs no explanation.

let me see if you answer these...dont give us a run around:

WEREn't the students admitted to BHU required to take JEE after it was started in the mid 60s ? Yes yes..IIT-KGP was the first one to be established in the early 50s. By them BHU was a highly established university in Physics and metallurgy.

Why did they include the five IITs + BHU as the institutions requiring JEE-based admissions?

isn't he defacto an IITian (if anything he is even superior to an IITian - as BHU is well known for its Metallurgical program).

singhal never attended an iit, so is/was not an ex-iitan. the j.e.e. and the metallurgy program of b.h.u. are both irrelevant. isn't it embarrassing to be caught lying?

I aint that stupid to believe that SuCHers are impervious to whatever you mentioned in this thread. Haven't you seen people claiming to be from IIT Roorkee or from NITs - although they all graduated from Univ of Roorkee and RECs?..

If a guy retired from "Jeep" and is on pension, he is bound to claim he is getting pension from Chrysler (or Fiat) as Jeep was absorbed sometime back and people may be unaware. If someone said Singhal studied in BHU, the modern youth may think that it is "Bethannagownder Hi-tech Univ". So one goes by the current name.
