I know of only two Hanuman temples in India where the main idol depicts Hanuman resting on the ground (face up) in a horizontal position. One is in Maharashtra, the other in Uttar Pradesh. In the Uttar Pradeshi temple women are permitted inside the sanctum sanctorum; in other words women are permitted to be as close to the Hanuman temple as men. However, in the Maharashtrian temple, women are not permitted inside the sanctum sanctorum on the ground that Hanuman is a bachelor and hence women need to keep their distance from him.
The Maharashtrian Hanuman temple is in Khuldabad, the Uttar Pradeshi Hanuman temple is in Allahabad.
