Monkey God Hanuman set fire to the whole of Lanka after his tail was put on fire by some misguided Lankans. Would it be correct to say that from a Lankan perspective Hanuman was a terrorist?

Entire Lanka was guilty. They didn't do anything to help Sita. 

If you want to look at Hanuman's actions with background of today's time n laws n norms, he was acting in self defense. He was no terrorist. He did ask Ravan to send Sita back politely. Instead Ravan put Hanuman's tail on fire. 
Who is threatening muslim's lives that they are bombing burning people? And you think bcz we call these idiots terrorists, we should call Hanuman one too? 
If Hanuman entered Lanka with the sole intention of burning the city bcz he felt rakshas people didn't deserve to live or bcz they enjoy going dancing n music n liquor so they should burn, then yes, we could call him a terrorist. 
But that's not the case. Your ability to compare two acts is nil.

Hanuman is my favorite Hindu God. I heard of some intellectuals affiliated with the Samajwadi Party of Uttar Pradesh giving the argument i gave in the OP and wondered how a Hanuman supporter would defend him. Thanks for defending Hanuman.

It's good but think about shadi too. You'll go crazy otherwise with all these research papers n deep understanding of pointless topics. And Internet debates etc. 
hanuman ji's fav was Bhagwan ram n he was married. Seriously. Think about it in the first half of 2016 n make up your mind by end of year. I hope you decide to Marry. Or make a well I'll post about otherwise later. After June 2016 when you're done thinking.

You are mistaken about Hanuman being a terrorist. He did not light up and start burning his tail himself with the aim of burning Lanka. Moreover, the reason Lanka got caught in the fire and burnt was merely a coincidence, because when he was running to douse flames on his burning tail, after guards had lit it, whatever came in his way and the burning tail also caught fire and burnt.
