Hyderabad:  Fourteen Indian students who travelled to the US last week chasing college dreams have been deported allegedly after being detained and questioned for 14-15 hours allegedly by the FBI in San Francisco. Another set of students who arrived today in Delhi said they were kept in a cell for three days before being deported.

A third set of students, 19 of them, were stopped by Air India from taking a flight from Hyderabad to San Francisco even though they had visas. Air India says these students were stopped so that they could avoid the humiliation of being deported because Air India's counterpart in the US had advised them to stop students coming to join blacklisted universities in the US.

What is common between these three groups is that they were heading to the Silicon Valley University at San Jose and North Western Polytechnic College, Fremont, both in California; these universities have been blacklisted by the US, according to information provided to Air India by the US Customs and Border protection agency.

Many of those deported were from Hyderabad but there were students from Delhi, Chhattisgarh and other states too. All of them had "revoked" stamped across the US visa stamp.

How did they let those blacklisted universities issue I-20s to begin with? obviously consulate was unaware of this too, as they issued visas based on those I-20s.

...If they can browse FB pahes, then they should be able to get information on such matters. If I can get it in 30 secs, these useless guys - likely went through "Educational Consultants" - should be smart enough google for these.

Consulate work is handled for most part by outsourced Rs 150/day employees. Good that AI stopped them and saved some hassles for the guys.

>>>>This nonsense has been around forever with the diploma mills. There used to be one in the San Diego area which seemed like it had a 99% Iranian student population. One of my friends came to SoCal not realizing that the school that gave him his 1-20 was a shady operation. The ones cropping now seem to cater to people who want to come in and look for a job. I don't think they are serious students anyway.

How did they get on board and fly with "revoked" stamped on Visa? How did they get clearance to get into the plane?

Visa Racket at Hyderabad Airport?

Seeking admission  from India to these universities / colleges in the U.S. does not indicate a real college dream but usually the easiest way to move to the U.S.
