actually, luckily, this was not that much of a norm growing up. dad didn't do much household work, nor did he expect mom to. no need to as long as you can get household help. same way, if mom didn't force bro to learn cooking, etc, nor did she force my sis or me. there motto - when u need it, u will learn it automatically. all of us learned as much as we wanted to, and when we wanted to. including my brother. xh also somewhat grew up with minimum expectations that men gotta help out, in case there is no other help. but he expected me to be the lead in most things. had a few frictions in the beginning. all good now.
