A new pancreatic cancer treatment in which a vaccine is injected directly into the pancreas has the potential to stop the spreading of the cancer in patients who cannot be treated surgically, according to a report on NorthJersery.com.

The clinical trial, done at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick, is in a very early stage, Phase 1. The study is designed to determine if the treatment is safe and how best to administer it, according to the article.

Four of the six patients treated with the vaccine were clinically stable after 15 months, which means that though the cancer was still present, it had not spread, according to the report.

According to the report, the treatment is not intended for patients whose cancer has already spread. Dr. Elizabeth Poplin, an oncologist and lead researcher for the study, told The Record that due to the small number of patients tested, they could not generalize.

Looks like NorthJersey.com has become the most respected and revered online news media.

There is a strong theory that virus or bacteria may be behind all cancers - as proven in the case of cervical, throat, and a couple of other types. As people get old, their immune system becomes weaker and weaker, and perhaps the viruses living in the human body take over - at least that is the theory.

There was an article a while back that those who have seasonal and other allergies have a much better immune system and they showed better ability to ward off cancer.

All these and more can be found in CentralNWKansas.com.
