It is probably the same thing (the change in the story from 'Bharat Mata ki jai' to 'jai Mata di') as happened with the JNU protesters and their supporters claiming later that the video about their chants (supporting the Parliament attacker) was fake, even though they had already convinced the Princeton University President to announce that similar protests at Princeton University in the U.S. (students chanting in favor of Osama) would not be considered bad / wrong.
