Trump, even back then, was evasive on tough questions. For example, when asked if he believed in fidelity, he said absolutely ... but only if the marriage was good. When asked if he was still married to Ivana, then about Marla Maples, he said he thought he was because he wasn't divorced or separated, and that Marla was just a friend. :-)

Most businessmen - well....ALL businessmen - lie and justify that as part of "achieving" an objective.

Warren buffet married his partner since 1974 only in 2005 although he was living with her in teh same house and still married to his original wife. I can understand his reasons and ask him and he will also give an eloquent reasoning.
