Students from Tamil Nadu have grabbed over 75 percent of seats in B.Com. (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) courses at the Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi.

How did students from Tamil Nadu manage to gain admission in such large numbers at a college more than 2,500 kilometers away? How is it that students from Delhi did not qualify in enough numbers?

Thanks for posting. Very interesting read. BITS Pilani has figured out a way to deal with this a long time ago by doing appropriate normalization. Maybe starting next year colleges like SRCC can seek guidance from BITS.  TN state board syllabus for science and mathematics in classes 11 and 12 was quite inferior in quality to the CBSE syllabus. A great deal of emphasis was placed on rote learning. It has likely not changed much in all these years. So admitting large numbers of TN state board students is also likely to degrade the overall quality of the student body. Education in TN is a joke.
