Telangana - are the fires snuffed out? Empty Telangana - are the fires snuffed out?

Post by truthbetold Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:24 pm

between Sep 2011 to nov 2011, Telangana movement rose its peak and fell off the cliff. Tremendous enthusiasm in september/early october with statements of imminent state bifurcation to a withering of the movement in Dec 2011. Other than some noise in Parliament, T movement has gone quite cold.

Is it strike fatigue? Parents reaction to loss of school and college education?

Is it Mayawati's UP break up scheme that got BJP to cool down their national support for T?

Is it MMS's clear statement that T is not coming any time soon? Is it an internal warning to T Congress MPs?

or as most people believe that KCR was paid off through a massive project contract?

We may not know any time soon. But Hyderabad will continue to suffer from lack of direction.

On the other hand, Real estate has picked up considerably in coastal AP towns. Coastal Real estate taxes have nearly offset loss of HYD real estate taxes. People always find ways to solve problems if politicos cannot handle them.

At one point, I thought the formation of T was imminent. But it doesn't seem like it. Talked to some friends inhyderabad. The response I got frm everyone was, it isn't easy to give away Hyd to one part of the state and deny it to the other. the bifurcation of the state is never going to happen. While Hyd has gone to dogs, the rest of AP Is developing with a vengeance. Previously, the deve was focused only in and around Hyd. The new developments are good for the rest of ap, but bad for Hyd. Hyd ki dishti padindi.

"Hyd ki dishti padindi."

LOL.

Growing of other regions and towns is a good thing. Coastal area potential is not exploited in India and AP has a long coast. Growth will also move T people to coastal areas increasing integration. But these kind of development requires time and a little bit of imaginative leadership.

Kiran Reddy seems to be better than Rosiah and he was also able to calm down 'Reddy' leaders. If T movement relegates to background, state could resume development.

T regional council with D. Srinivas as Chairmen is the solution flavor of the day.
