American-born 17 year old Tamil girl's English poem about losing her Tamil identity wins her US national award and praise from First Lady Mrs. Obama.


“My family is Tamil. I was born here. My poem is based on experience of losing my mother tongue and kind of replacing it with another, which is very painful thing to imagine to go through,” she said,
