This will only get worse as baby boomers age. The only proposition that I was rooting for but lost in CA was 61, limiting prescription drug prices to the levels that the VA pays. The pharma lobby spent over a hundred million dollars to beat it, using what I consider deceptive ads. Now there will be no federal action to slow the growth of drug prices over the next four years. And if Medicare's finances get worse as a result, that's just more grist for Paul Ryan's mill to dismantle it altogether.
