This was the book which motivated a 20 year old Steve Jobs to go to India for seven months where he visited several ashrams and did some sightseeing:

Ya, heard abt it. It's on the lines of 'the power of now' and 'the new earth'. Ppl were talking abt 'be here now' by ramdass in the message board on those book discussions. That's the first time i heard abt him. listened to his cd that i got from the library. was nice.
Then i saw him in the video series of 'Ramana Maharshi-Abide as the Self', talking abt the teachings of Ramana Maharshi. A very good video series. Watch it if you are interested. Both their teachings are on the same line. Here's the first part of the video series. Can see Ramdass @ 1.48 mins.
