Because you treated owning a gun and never having eaten quinoa as signifiers of fascism. Because you thought correcting people’s attitudes was more important than finding them jobs.

Because you cried when someone mocked the Koran but laughed when they mocked the Bible. Because you said criticising Islam is Islamophobia.

I always find these types of criticisms of liberals quite funny. That because liberals focused on cultural issues, that the people who were economically deprived, chose a party whose economic policies hurt both liberals and themselves? Are you implying that the people who were put off by liberals' cultural preferences have no independent thought process or agency?  That seems like an elitist assumption (perhaps an elitist Republican assumption) to me.

I am asking because the writer of the article, assuming he speaks for the blue collar folks who voted for Trump, seems to think that "Trump happening" is not an outcome he desires, but he is blaming liberals for it.

Tambrams are 3-4% of TN population. The population of Clinton voters exceeded Trump voters and showed up in great numbers at the women's march. So not a great comparison.

the author is saying the shrill & hysterical hectoring pushed ppl farther to the right, electing someone they see as the foil to what has been going on with political correctness. libbies can continue to lecture red meat and potatoes crowd on what should do with their "independent thought process of agency" but wont change a damn thing.

PS: you also missed the part where he says libby establishment stopped listening to blue collar ppl and instead were too busy pushing them into a corner on culture wars.

It hasn't pushed them to the right. It has pushed them to a very strange place. Trump is a Marxist in many ways.
