... in 2009, Fox News was attacking President Obama for using Dijon mustard. Trump, OTOH, has already had a former FBI director testify to the Senate that the president is a liar who fired him because he was investigating the president's campaign. This is perfect. So much winning!

That's because Republicans had taken defeat in their stride and didn't throw non-stop sore loser tantrums, much less carry out witch hunts with wet dreams of impeachment.

That's a lie, plain and simple. See: birtherism, Tea Party,

Less than fifty days after Obama took office, conservative radio host Michael Savage told his audience that the American public was "sitting like a bunch of schmucks, watching a dictatorship emerge in front of their eyes." According to Savage, Obama was already "out of control" and concluded, "I think it is time to start talking about impeachment." Conservative media figures have continued talking about impeachment for the intervening five years.

Savage is a far right commentator. Unlike NYT, CNN etc which are mainstream.

And Dems want to impeach Trump asap. So big difference there.

The GOP would have too if they had a constantly lying democratic party. Other than guy who yelled "you lie" who was chastised by his own party, I don't remember many GOP politicians accusing Obama of lying (other than the fringe birther crowd that is).

Is a Republican Congressman who used to chair the House Oversight Committee mainstream enough for you?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/05/25/congressman-white-house-job-offer-sestak-impeachable-offense.html

Republicans did not accept Obama. They started a completely baseless and racist rumor about his place of birth and pretended for years that he was illegitimate as a result of being born in Kenya. When the fact is that even if he were born in Kenya he would still be legitimate because of his American citizen mother. Il Douche entered politics by capitalizing on those racist tendencies within the Republican party.

If you want to pretend otherwise, feel free to continue your charade.

Wrong! The below blurb on Obama by the literary agency for which he was a writer is real.

Doesn't matter. The profile says his mom was American, which makes him eligible to be president. So birtherism was still completely baseless.

Senior Republican congressman was talking about impeachment for Obama. So you are just plain wrong.

You said talk about him being foreign born was totally baseless. I proved that a basis exists for such talk. Now you changed the topic.

The fact that there are other sentences in that post doesn't invalidate the fact that one of the sentences is wrong. If you scroll up, I highlighted the portion your post that I disagree with. It is not the birther controversy which landed Trump in the white house. Severe dissatisfaction with Obama's presidency propelled Trump to power.

Oh, is that so?

Then you should be able to finally understand how your original argument in this thread is all wrong. Darrell Issa was talking about impeachment.

"That's because Republicans had taken defeat in their stride and didn't throw non-stop sore loser tantrums, much less carry out witch hunts with wet dreams of impeachment."
