old'ish couple Empty old'ish couple

one can't hear well, except the voice of their spouse. the other has memory issues. so when making plans, the one with good ears has to hear you and repeat it all to the one with good memory. this way they travel the whole world, and doing well. 

i wonder what complementary qualities XH and I have that will make us functional (at this point am assuming we will grow old together).... tough luck if both the partners have same issues or plus points.
