A day of good political good news

Yesterday was a really good day in terms of political news... the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco struck down California's discriminatory Prop 8 -- without jeopardizing Obama's re-election too -- and Santorum won the three states that went to the polls. Hopefully this means the race for the nomination goes right into summer.

Wonder who's going to carry the conservative wing of the conservatives' torch --- Gingrich or Santorum. Also, there is so much out there on Gingrich but not much about Santorum. May be some unpleasant stories will start coming out now that he has won a couple of states.

Santorum is a known homophobic and racist. He has called an Indian guy macaca.

That was not Santorum. It was George Allen, a former Senator from Virginia. You know - I know about the family of the guy who was called that derogatory name. They are a very well known Iyengar family in the community here, and the guy's mother is a very well accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer and a great volunteer in the temple here (she spends a lot of time there doing this that or the other).

the situation calls for dumb and dumber reactions to pander to the freaks and Kochists. Will continue until NY, IL, CA, OH, TX vote.

At the convention the freaks will be forgotten and a centrist position will be adapted.

But the less than 8% unemployment rate will doom the Reps.

What is happening to the sex life of politicians? At least in the old days..they had some "real fun" with real people (did you read about JFK- and what a fun and playful Playboy he was?) Apparently they have to settle for e-images and e-sex now!

Ok, seriously..

I made my first contribution to the Obama Re-election campaign..so I am committed now.

Having said that..I will not dismiss the Republican candidates so easily or calling then stupid based on their values is not so smart. If Rick Santorum becomes the candidate by some miracle..the election will be more interesting with clear contrasts in ideology. He is a true conservative- not a hypocrite, and is likeable. In reality the Contraception-Religion debate has touched some nerves, even among Obama voters..and it's not going to be a cake walk, as some assume.

We'll see..there is a long road ahead.
