I received the following valuable feedback (courtesy Venkateswarlu).
"If possible it is advisable to get the CPR training either through the local Fire Department, Red Cross, or other agencies. Some practice also helps.
"Also, it will help carrying in the pocket the nitroglycerine pills or sorbitrate heart shaped pills. Some prior doctor's advice for preventive measures is very helpful. When in doubt, never and never ignore any pain - pain around stomach, chest, ribs, neck, or in the back. Immediately get help and the individual should be swiftly moved to the nearest hospital or clinic. Many times average lay person cannot diagnose the pain and valuable time is lost.
"Any number of examples can be given. A handsome ice skater lost to heart attack. During a marathon weekend running event middle aged individual gets severe fatal angina. Always one should know how much heat, stress, sweating, and exercise one can safely bear."
