This sounds highly suspect. Obama would not have allowed someone to corner him into this position. I have other issues with him, but he showed leadership and decisiveness in this matter.

Spins and googlies aplenty. Who knows what happened for sure. A president would not do day to day monitoring or decision making. If the mission had failed and he had not ordered it, it would still be Obama's failure. He put together his team and gave them high level guidance. All their failures and successes are his.
