K, am gonna google too. All info welcome. If I live in NJ, but worked in NY for last 5+ years, how do I go about claiming unemployment?

dammit

NY unemployment SUCKS!!!! After they take out taxes, you end up with a maximum of about $385 a week.

In NJ, the max unemployment is $584 a week!!!

No.. you are wrong. You should get more - a LOT MORE. not sure whether you should file with NY OR NJ or both state. you were employed in NYC. Check with NY state labor dept. call the 800 # and ask them.

You will have to file EACH week by calling some number and answering a bunch of robotic questions.
