If i could blog about my vacation

It would be similar to this one....

One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from the trip, the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”
“It was great, Dad”.

“Did you see how poor people live?” the father asked.

“Oh yes”, said the son.
“So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

The son answered:
“I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
“We have a pool that reaches to the middle of the garden and they have a creek that has no end.
“We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

“Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
“We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

“We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
“We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.”

The boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added:
“Thanks, Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

all such stories are written to make poor people feel good about their condition. the fact is: everyone wants to make money and live like a king even if it means building a compound around you. most people write such stuff to make millions themselves.

btw, i am disappointed that no woman has chosen to write a poem in continuation with this thread. a poem that extends the theme of this story and has one or all of the following lines.

i am rich, yet so poor
i have everything, yet i have nothing
i have wings, but i cannot fly
we are so near, yet so far
i want to break free....... la la la

women fancy themselves poetesses in their 20s and photogs in their thirties. what we have here are a bunch of cynical, tired old women.

how come every narayanan, dinesh and haribabu is a photog these days.. where were they when folks used kodak phillums..

Their idea of good photography: Take 1000 shots of the same thing. Atleast one will come out good.

that's another thing i have noticed. everyone takes up photography as their hobby these days. you have a camera, then you are a photographer. much like nike's "you have a body, then you are an athlete" tagline. and they believe it is a felony not to click a setting sun as one of your first five clicks. and they think it is a crime against humanity not to click a silhouette of their friend on a sea shore.

post your photo here and if you're easy on the eyes, we'll be sweet. it's a strict meritocracy here with looks being the primary differentiator.
