A placebo ( /pləˈsiboʊ/; Latin placēbō, “I shall please”[2] from placeō, “I please”) is a simulated or otherwise medically ineffectual treatment for a disease or other medical condition intended to deceive the recipient. Sometimes patients given a placebo treatment will have a perceived or actual improvement in a medical condition, a phenomenon commonly called the placebo effect.

Then why should there be a field study in which dogs were tested with placebo?

Where is the question of animals being deceived into thinking that they are getting the real medicine?

Do animals think that the medicine their owners give them would cure them?

animals are smart(er than people).

Secondly, after the animal trial, the testing is shifted to messican, Indian, and vietnamese guinea pigs.
