I'm working on a pact with Carvaka where I safeguard his right to bear arms while he makes sure there are never any controls on my freedom of speech. You know, a principles-uber-alles Indo-American partnership. But he's playing hard to get. So far he's agreed to advocate for an unfettered freedom of speech only as long as that speech is against the UPA government.

India too offers freedoms (concessions) that U.S doesn't. For example, can Sikhs wear a turban and join the U.S. Army like they can do India? Can a muslim in U.S marry 4 wives, or have separate laws governing other aspects civil law like he can do in India without getting arrested and thrown in jail?

This is awful. Whoever did this to her needs to be prosecuted. But knowing the lack of respect for free speech in India -- and intellectual justifications for disregarding free speech just because the government of the day wants to ride roughshod over its political opponents -- they will probably get away with it.
