Actually he is a truly Global Hero. I am sure people in almost all countries have heard about him - past and present generations. He could well have become a politician along the lines of John Glenn.

I loved this statement from his family!:

“For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.”

I will certainly think about him too..and do that now.. Wink

But..goodness, as time so quickly goes by..there are only so many times..one can look at the Moon and Stars and smile and wink.. thinking.. about so many dear people who are no longer here on Earth.. It's feels so much better to wink, wave, hug and kiss them when they are still around!
