Actually the three girls should thank the owner of the shop.

If he had initially reported them to the cops, they would have treated them much worse.

Most of the small shop owners in India are not rich. These kinds of criminals steal from people who scrap by for a living.

I agree... in the Naarth, the Thakurs and the Singhs would have taken these 3 girls and raped them and dumped them in some fields. Oh...also, they would have looted the girls' houses and set fire to the houses.

Besides, the shopwala could have been a muslim indulging in public punishment to women - again a Naarthie trait.
