i am unable to take my mind off amanat, damini, nirbhay or whatever the media calls the 23 yr old rape victim. i will always remember 2012 for it. she will most likely die by tomorrow if latest reports are any indication. it is not the rape. as details emerge over days, the "rape" pales in comparison to the brutal violence that was conducted on her. the culprit is mukesh kumar, the bus driver's younger brother. he is a sadist bastard. i suspect he derived pleasure from beating her up with an iron rod, sticking it up her genitals, and, as it now emerges, inflicting violence, with it perhaps, on her brain. all while the other 5 rapists ignored his conduct in the bus. mukesh kumar was trashed by inmates in tihar -- even undertrials felt nauseated. his brother ram singh gave this testimony -- mera bhai sharaab peene ke baad janwar ho jata hai.

yaar, janwar bhi to aisa nahi karte. and this girl is hardly a couple of years older than my older. she is a kid so to say. 40 minutes of hell in delhi on a bus. it is better to die to a bullet than undergo this! it is better to die and be chopped to pieces but this. and the absurd theatre that unfolded afterwards: mindless protest; followed by a scared govt. that irresponsibly flew her to singapore hours after a cardiac arrest and fended her off to die there than here; absurd delhi police glorifying the death of a policeman who in all likelihood died of a cardiac arrest. state honours for a cop that died under mysterious circumstances and amanat fended off to die an ignominious death in singapore? height of insensitivity! the least you could have done is tone down the cop's death. they will probably fly dead amanat backi in tri-colours to be cremated here -- let's see.

this was the most repulsive crime that i can remember. and it was a crime against women and a crime against a girl and a crime against a kid. i do not know if society has a punishment that matches the severity of the crime conducted in this case. all said, you can't bring the brave girl amanat back. i wish she had lived. i had hoped she would but i did not know or realize the severity of the injuries. her mental composure deceived all of us. i had thought she would live longer than die so soon!

this is not about rape in delhi. as pointed out in this forum, 2 more rapes have occurred in ncr since amanat. who is protesting them and where? on another note, make that 2 more "reported" rapes. i know how difficult it is to file a rape GD. i have been witness to one. the cops do not cooperate. they make the victim feel like a cockroach.

It wasn't just inserting the rod into her. It was the intestines being pulled out along with it that sends shivers through me every time I think about it. There, I said it. I was finding it hard to even say it and the poor girl went through it.

I don't know how much you can go about blaming society or a region. Such evil men/women are born maybe one in a million. And I just wish he is hanged in public. I don't believe in keeping-alive-torture-him kinda punishment. No need to possibly glorify the satan and write books on his life or torture. Worse, end up evoking sympathy for *him* while he 'repents'. Just end his life and hope it deters anyone who has a tendency to become an animal under whatever influence.

i think animals are capable of tenderness towards each other. instances of gratuitous violence i don't think are common in animals. this is uniquely human.

sorry to get graphic vidya but i keep thinking about it -- not out of a sadistic pleasure btw. what did the bastard do to hurt the small intestines? genitals are no way to reach them nor the rectum. he must have hit her in the stomach with the iron rod i feel. no?

Dunno the graphic details. I read it in news items just like you. There is no bone separator in there. All soft organs. And a sharp rod.
