Why do you call this child abuse? Unfortunately this prodigy suffers socially which in turn causes emotional distress. There is a social disadvantage in being super gifted.

It is not child abuse unless the parents push the child... I dont think the parents can push the child to join a university unless the university considers him qualified and prepared.

When a boy/girl is packed off to IIT tuition after school, and the continuous "studying" from 7 AM till 11 pm is indeed child abuse..There is plenty of it in India.

Many parents push the kids in US but mostly forcing them to do this and that...But there is no way they can push the kids into higher grades or college, unless the kid is found to be ready.
