Dont need to file income tax if you make more than 5 lakhs per annum ?

Economic Law of Idlies:

Tax-exempt Avg monthly salary. 2_BR flat rent in Madras/2-Idlies/min autofare

2010: Rs 40,000 / Rs 20,000/Rs 10/Rs 50

2000: Rs: 20,000/Rs 10,000/Rs5/Rs 20

1990: Rs: Rs 5,000/Rs 3,000/Rs 2/Rs 10

In essence - price/salary ratio has not changed much.
