here's the acknowledgment which is at the end of the full report:
This report was researched and written by Smita Narula, senior researcher for the Asia Division at Human Rights Watch. It is based on research conducted in Gujarat, India in March 2002. Research and writing assistance in New York was provided by Jonathan Horowitz, program associate, and Amardeep Singh, hate crimes researcher. The report was edited by Widney Brown, advocacy director of the Women's Rights Division and acting New York director of the Asia division, Mike Jendrzejczyk, acting executive director of the Asia Division, and Michael McClintock, deputy program director. It was reviewed by Rachael Reilly, refugee policy director, and James Ross, senior legal advisor. Production assistance was provided by Patrick Minges, Veronica Matushaj, John Sifton, Neela De Soyza, Liz Weiss, and Wen-Hua Yang.
i believe that this is as objective and apolitical as a report on the gujarat killings and riots of 2002 can get.

I agree about this being as close to an unbiased view as we can hope to get on this matter. I have read some of the other investigation reports in addition to this one and I found this to be fair and balanced as far as I can tell without having been in the ground myself when these events occurred.
Indians of all political persuasions would do well to read this report. The fact that it is written by HRW investigators adds to its credibility, although many Indians may reflexively dislike the organization for its truth telling regarding Indian Army atrocities in Kashmir.

You claim that you believe in Indian judicial system. Supreme court and all investigating teams have acquitted Modi.
So, either quit whining or accept you never really believed in the Indian Judiciary.

Supreme Court has not yet exonerated Modi. They have remanded the case for a fresh trial directing the trial court to hear the testimony of Zakia Jaffery, the widow of Ehsaan Jaffery.

Theoretically, Indira, Sonia, Rajiv, Akbar,Barber, Shahjahan and anyone can be accused at anytime in Indan judiciary. PPl have no job and will keep filing.
Modi wAS ACQUITTED OF Gujju riots - one cannot be tried again for the same crime twice.
So he is innocent. And, we all know how corrupt the Supreme Court is.

Sorry, he was. Besides, he has been acquitted in people's court 3times.
That is my verdict, which is superior to Indian Supreme Court. I am saying so.

There is no such thing as people's court. The trial court (district court) acquitted him based on the biased and cooked up report of the SIT. Subsequently the Supreme Court directed the trial court to hear the case afresh after taking into account the testimony of Zakia Jaffery. The case is still going on.
