What the hell is wrong with Indians?
New Delhi: The CBSE Class XII exam results almost wiped out a family in the capital with the teenaged daughter of a Delhi Police personnel and her mother committing suicide and her brother critically ill after consuming poison when they came to know about her failure in the examination.
The incident is reported from Vijay Vihar area.
The girl, identified as Shivani, allegedly consumed poison after she came to know that she had fared poorly in the final exams, police said.
Seeing her consuming poison, her brother also took poison, they said.
Police suspect that the boy feared that he may also fail in Class X examination, the result of which was announced on May 30.
"The mother, Kamlesh, saw her children consuming poison and she also followed them. A neighbour found them lying on the floor and informed Kamlesh's husband Pradeep, an Assistant Sub Inspector in Delhi Police," a police official said.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital where Shivani and Kamlesh died, while her brother is undergoing treatment.
No suicide note was recovered and police are investigating the case.
