Foyle's War (Attn. Lucy)

Lucy, this is a show you will like. There are 22 episodes on Netflix. It stars Michael Kitchen(you will remember him as the King in 'To Play The King') as the title character, a detective police superintendent during WWII in Hastings. It is a period piece. There is no gratuitous sex or violence. The only caveat is that each episode is about 1.5 hours long.

just noticed that this is created by anthony horowitz - i only knew him as a children's writer since my kids used to read a lot of his alex rider books.

i am watching 'midsomer murders' these days. a lot of tea drinking though it is not a period drama.

As these Brit shows go, I really liked Insp Morse. Preferred the irritable Morse to the cheerier Barnaby from Midsomer murders. I watch slowly took me two years to finish watching all eight seasons.
