sometimes all the knowledge, class and education doesn't change your basic nature. e.g. have had two woman in my family

woman 1: Quiet classy. Studied only until 8th grade, but that didn't change her general knowledge and tastes in life. She was well read. She was aware of all the latest happenings in the world. She read all the classics, actually only the classics, only Hindi though. She knew a good tune or song the moment she heard it. She had good taste in music, clothes, decoration, you name it. She was a great cook, and a beautiful artist. Yes, she was pretty as well. She had a doting husband and two doting kids. But she had a bad temper, and was extremely controlling. And she was the sister-in-law, and then a mother-in-law from hell. She would belittle everyone and anyone she didn't consider superior to her. She was extremely bitter about many many things straight from her childhood, and she never made peace with anything, ever. She managed to make happen many family fueds. She made her mother go against her own brother. No one could be better than her. No one could form an alliance, or else she would have sleepless nights, until she cracked that alliance. She ended up destroying marriages of both her kids. She raised all her grandkids to career succes (she had to raise all her grandkids, coz the parents ended up being absent from their lives, or complete cuckoos), but she managed to poison the minds of 3 out 5 of her grandkids, to the point that even they are petty and mean about e'thing. If any other family member tried to talk sense to them, they would become enemy #1, no matter how close they were earlier to her.

woman 2: illiterate at the time of marriage. Her MIL ensured though that she could read atleast newspapers, and write minimal stuff. She was the worst cook I have known. And she was an average housewife. Very average looking. Art work, forget it. But she was the most loved aunt and mother. Always practical. You could always depend on her, no matter what family occasion. She found positives in almost everyone and everything, and made sure she praised them. She loved all the kids equally, and you were always welcome in her house. She may not be present in your good times, but she would be by your side at the low times, without fail. More than that, extremely practical. Abundant common sense. She wasn't a door mat, mind you. She formed her own relationships, that wasn't disctated by those of any one else in the family. She rebeled her husband openly in keeping good terms with others, if she had to. And no one felt hurt by it either. She generated enough respect, to the point that everyone near or far looks to her for comfort and advice.

Makes you wonder often. Does having high IQ, great general knowledge and taste, really makes you a better person?

"Does having high IQ, great general knowledge and taste, really makes you a better person?" V.B.

>>> Interesting question. Btw many people with very high IQ are known to be quite bad / obnoxious in real life. There is even a question on the goodness and moralilty in people ... are people good because they happen to be basically good or is their goodness / morality the result of their training / education (including religion) etc.?

Nopes. It's the attitude that matters more than anything else.

There must be a lot of negative energy around the first person. Neither she nor the ones around her can ever be happy. Avoid such people like the plague. Stay away from them!

The second one is a happy person with positive vibes. Such ppl are happy and they pass on that happiness to e'one around. Associate with such ppl.

The question is: what kind of vibes/energy are you (generic you) emitting everyday? Positive or negative? I read somewhere that that's the question we need to ask every day and work towards the former.
