Telangana - now Owaisi is raising his tail
Raising his tail - is a translation for the Telugu expression "toka ettutunnaadu" meaning - acting like a big shot.

Re: Telangana - now Owaisi is raising his tail
What does he want? Hyderabad and its revenue are given to Telangana. AP gets nothing from this (other than having Hyd s a common capital for 10 years). This is a huge victory for Telangana. AP should just have their capital in a tent so that a new capital will be built soon. AP gains nothing by having Hyd as a common capital when there is no revenue sharing. If Owaissi is complaining about small things after getting Hyderabad's revenue, he is being excessively greedy. Bhadrachalam belonged to E Godavari before the merger with Telangana. In fact, AP didn't get back everything it gave to Khammam in 1956. So, who is done injustice? Owaissi wants to build dams on Godavari. What does he want to do - make water go uphill (they have lift-irrigation in T near Godavari because of the high land altitude)?
Telangana got the best deal and AP is treated like a step-child by MT. That is the reality.

he is doing a Jinnah on KCR. dreaming about becoming a Dy CM and then become a Telengan Antulay. The problem is this goon will indulge in ransacking Hyderabad and converting it into another Karachi unless he is given what he wants and more.

Re: Telangana - now Owaisi is raising his tail
On the big things, Telangana pretty much got what it wanted, and labeling that as giving a walkover is stupid. Most of the complaints -- common capital, one High Court, one governor etc. -- are beneficial to Hyderabad and Telangana. If the Seemandhra people want to keep their capital in Hyderabad, that just boosts their economy. If Seemandhra people want to come to Hyderabad for all their High Court cases, the people of Hyderabad will benefit from that.
After the dust settles on the separation, I am sure Seemandhra people will clamor for a separate High Court and governor. They may not seek to move the capital away quickly, because they won't quickly decide on a new capital. It will probably be a long-drawn out fight between different contenders, and the SA capital will stay in Hyderabad for the interim period.

Will somebody explain to me how Hyderabad can be a capital for Seemandhra when hyderabad is located smack in the MIDDLE of telengana?
I have NEVER seen such an idiotic arrangement anywhere in the World.

Some of his points make sense though; on a related note T leaders are not happy about merging 7? Mandalams back to Andhra and about giving national status to Polavaram

These are just 'tAtAku chappuLLu' to not let Cong take all credit and also retain their separate identity. T-state got a great deal on the whole, especially if we take in to consideration that all of Hyderabad revenues are given to them even during this interim 10-years. With such a surplus budget they don't need any more 'special privileges' to develop the T area.

I don't think coastal people are that fussy about where the capital should be. (Look at how they are quiet about the separation once it is done; should tell you how they will react once the capital site is decided.) Rayalaseema people may be fussy about where the capital should be. However, they are given a special package for the next 5 years and if development projects are announced simultaneously, they may not fight hard for the capital. In my view, the capital should be in the coastal areas. Hopefully, it will be close to Seema as well as to the Northern districts. Guntur/Prakasam districts have backward areas (land is not expensive) close to Nallamalai forest. Perhaps, they will choose a place there. Ramesh already farted that they won't follow the Hyd model for AP. So, it doesn't need to be with an international airport, heavy industry and educational institutes. Hopefully, they will have a comprehensive plan to develop the corridor between Madras and Vizag. That will bring enormous prosperity to the region. Also, connecting Godavari with Krishna through Polavaram project (hopefully, they will call it K L Rao canal) will be a game changer. May be, I'll buy agricultural land around that area (looks like that is what Propa is doing).Idéfix wrote:On the big things, Telangana pretty much got what it wanted, and labeling that as giving a walkover is stupid. Water? ------ Amaravati or the political capital to deal with water issues.
Agriculture? ------- The 3 districts that feed at least 1/3 of the country (2 Godavari dts & Krishna)
Mining? -------- Coal & diamonds are in Telangana, and Iron is in Orissa. Only Gas is in SA (Krishna Godavari basin) --- Ambanis want all of it shipped to Gujarat by digging trenches and messing up the land across SA, Telangana, and Maharashtra. But SA folks are talking petrochemical industry in Kakinada (East Godavari).
Finance? ------ Wherever the money is - in Vijayawada.
Keep hope alive!
